This viaduct improves the access to Montevideo and expands the port property, by elevating traffic and therefore freeing up the passage for port and rail movements underneath.
The structure consists of two access ramps, a viaduct supported by central columns and a cable-stayed viaduct span with an upper arch, as well as several access branches along its length.
The main typology is cast-in-situ and precast concrete, prestressed and post-tensioned. The upper arch is a metallic structure with a composite deck.
This project was carried out jointly with FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores y METRA Ingenieros.
