This bridge connects Maldonado and Rocha, south of the Laguna Garzón lagoon, near its outlet in the Atlantic Ocean.
It is a circular bridge, with a 51.5 m radius, and two straight spans in its access. It has a total length of 46 m.
The infrastructure consists in 16 piles (of 1400, 1700 and 2000 mm of diameter), of approximately 20 m of length. The superstructure consists in 12 precast and prestressed box-girders.
Its architectural design is by Rafael Viñoly, a famous Uruguayan architect who is recognized for numerous international works and for the design of the Carrasco Airport in Montevideo, Uruguay.
