LUSSICH VIADUCT

Location: Maldonado, Uruguay
Owner: National Road Administration (DNV) / Maldonado City Council (IDM)
Builder: TECHINT
Year: 2002

This viaduct, located at the intersection of Route 10 with Lussich Road, resolves the conflict between the transit to the city of Punta del Este, by Route 10, and the exit from Solanas Beach to Lussich Road.

It has a length of 200 m, defined to attend aesthetic issues, because of its location in the main tourist point of Uruguay.

The structural solution consists of two independent box girders (one for each path), connected only at their ends, curved, continuous, made of post-tensioned concrete, with four sections.

The retaining walls of the accesses are made of reinforced soil, made with the stone obtained from the excavation of the route.
