The roof of the Malaga Airport Processor has dimensions in plant of 250 m x 180 m, and more than 5,500 tons of steel.
It has been solved by means of metal arms that are born on large concrete columns. On these arms rests a grid of metal box girders that, in addition to supporting a roof in the shape of truncated pyramids, supports a glass facade supported by tensioned cables.
The structure is located in an area of significant seismicity. This problem was solved with inclined tensioners in certain sectors of the façade, interspersed with those that hold it.
The structure project was carried out jointly with FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores.
